About the VCA
The Colorado General Assembly in 2004 passed legislation to establish a Colorado Venture Capital Authority ("VCA"). The VCA sold premium tax credits to insurance companies and made the proceeds available through a selection process to one venture capital fund manager, High Country Venture LLC, of Boulder, Colorado. Thus, the VCA is a Limited Partner in the Colorado Fund 1. The Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade is responsible for providing staff support to the VCA, including administration of the tax credits.
High Country Venture will make investments in eligible Colorado small businesses. Mike Imhoff, Chairman of the VCA’s Board of Directors noted “High Country’s expertise and track record will add great value to the potential impact of the VCA’s inaugural investment fund, and we are excited to be moving forward.”
